Land Launch Successfully Deploys MEASAT-3a Satellite to Orbit

The Land Launch Zenit-3SLB system has successfully inserted the MEASAT-3a communications satellite (formerly MEASAT-1R) into a geosynchronous transfer orbit, at the end of a mission originating from the Zenit launch site at the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan.

The Spanish communications service provider and satellite operator Hispasat S.A. and OHB-System AG, a subsidiary of the European space and technology group OHB Technology AG (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), have today signed a contract for the construction and testing of the satellite for the first Small GEO mission at the Paris Air Show, which is currently taking place.
