COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX: CDV), a leading manufacturer of space hardware subsystems, today announced that it has successfully completed an end-to-end ground-based test of its advanced AIS payload and nanosatellite. The nanosatellite is an experimental vehicle intended to demonstrate key elements of COM DEV space-based AIS detection technology and enable any design changes to be incorporated prior to launching full operational systems. Recent tests were the last in a series required to confirm that the spacecraft and AIS payload are operating correctly and responding to operational commands. The pre-shipment ground testing also confirmed the ability of the payload to receive AIS data and successfully transmit it to the ground station.

The spacecraft is now in the process of being shipped to India for final integration with the launch vehicle. The launch schedule remains on track with an expected launch date of late April.

COM DEV also provided an update on its previously announced acquisition of the Passive Microwave Devices product line from L-3 Communications. The Company was recently informed that the Committee for Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) is not expected to issue a ruling on COM DEV's submission before the end of April. The closing of the acquisition is conditional upon a favourable ruling.
