ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited (ICO) (NASDAQ: ICOG) today announced that its European subsidiary ICO Satellite Limited has filed an application with the European Commission (EC) in response to the Commission's call for applications for pan-European systems providing mobile satellite services.

ICO has also initiated proceedings in the European Court of First Instance for the annulment of Decision No. 626/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 June 2008. ICO contends that Decision 626/2008/EC is illegal and therefore should be annulled pursuant to Articles 230 and 231 of the Treaty establishing the European Community (EC Treaty).
